Moving a heavy machine!!!!!! HELP
Hi, I've just purchased an old SCM120C spindle moulder in Prahran, and was wanting advice on who to contact to either load it onto my ute or deliver it to Northcote. I reckon it weighs about 600kg. I've removed the guard,fence and power feed, but it's still very heavy. Any advice would be much appreciated. It's in really good origional condition, totally complete and surprisingly came with a heap of good quality cutters . I won't have use for most of them, so will be listing them for sale soon. A crane truck is often a cheaper option than you may think. And prolly as safe as anything.

For your Option B (delivery), ring a few machinery sales places and ask who they use to do their machine moves. Hint - I'd start with asking Wanita at Woodworking Warehouse.

a hiab/crane truck is the safest solution.

I've moved a lot of machinery on my trailer and have used an engine crane to load and unload

I also recommend a crane truck/franna.
I used one to lift a steel beam in my shed and although the whole process took only 15 mins ......the minimum payment for an hour was worth the lack of worrying and possible damage if you try short cuts
