Nail/bolt removal from recyled timber
Hi all
I am in the process of denailing a fair few 6x4 redgum boards (not sleepers) and I was wondering is there an easier way to pull the bloody things out than with a pinch bar, claw hammer and an old chisel !!! I'm trying to minimise wastage (so me mate doesnt get too much firewood HEHE !!) I seem to remember seeing somewhere a contraption which hooked bolts and nails without all the strain. Cant remember the details tho....any idea's? Thanks in advance on any idea's or helpMeasure twice, cut once ( er hopefully !!! )

A couple of things I have used.
If it looks rusty and still has a lot sticking out give it a bang firts to break its grip.
I did once heat up the head off a big stuborn nail with the oxy torch to make it let go.
I sometimes dig arroung the culprit with a narrow nail punch.
I have heard of people using a plug cutter to remove broken off stubs.
A restorers cats paw seems to get a better hold than a wertern crow bar on smaller nails and you can Drive the forky end in below the surface to get a better grip
Old style pincers also are usefull
you gota treat it as a chalenge
Come out you @#$^&$# I'll get you &*$#@@????
Sometimes its just not worth it.
