What does it feel like, is it heavy and hard? Going by the picture alone it looks like a gidgee

+1 for Qld Maple, made a bread board for a friend a few years ago and it looked practically the same. The dark "pinstripe" lines in the grain are the giveaway for me

My first thought was Qld Maple also but I sat on the fence waiting for support.

The timber is figured QLD Maple. Now to find some that looks similar and I can finish the table I'm making.
