Native timbers
I am always on the prowl for WA native timber, particularly out of the ordinary varieties. I was told of a supplier, Western Trade Supplies at Armadale. Do any of the WA members, or any members at all, have any knowledge of that company/firm? Armadale is a 400 ks drive for me, from down south, and I do it as little as little as possible.
It only takes one drink to get me loaded. Trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or fourteenth.

I pass within about 500m of Western Trade Supplies every day on my way to work. I'll call in and have a look and let you know what they've got there.

Finally got a chance to pop in Western Trade Supplies. A bit disappointing I'm afraid.
They don't carry anything in the way of exotic timbers at all. About the only timber they stock is a little bit of Jarrah and Pine. If they used to stock other timbers, they certainly don't anymore.

Thanks Geoff.
You have saved me a trip to Perth. I seem to have located a place in Denmark, the town rather than the country, that is worth investigating. Much more attractive as a destination and has the added advantage of a cafe that serves "cardiac arrest" chocolate cake. If I survive the trip I will post a report.

Hi Robert, there used to be an outfit called Mount Shadforth timbers that predominated in various timbers some time back.
Whether they're still in business I do not know but they were in Mt Shadforth up behind Denmark a nice drive with remarkable views.
Ask around whilst you're in Denmark?
Cheers
