    Default newbie......

    g'day

i am a 3rd yr apprentice ata comercial cabinetmaking factory...

and just recently had an arguement with one of the tradesman about wording and was wondering if anyone could help ....

basicly hes saying that if a slab/end panel on an open shelf cupboard sticks proud of the end a couple of mm then that would be called a quirk .... but ive always been told that it is referd to as a break over or break under .....

would anyone be albe to describe to me what a quirk is ....

    cheers

"Quirk: Noun, a groove separating a bead or other molding from adjoining members." from http://www.hfms.ca/Newsletters/Vol4-4Nov%2705.pdf

Well some might refer to it as quirky, but I'd call it careless joinery.

What I've known as a quirk is just what Eowyn says.
