Another great video, with something I'd not seen before. Good job Dennis.

I was intrigued by two things in the video.
    1. The fact that the clamps work with a range of stock thickness. Is that inherent in the clamp design, or is it an artefact of the non rigid mounting system?
    2. While you showed it quite quickly, are you able to post some photos of your removable fence?

Also, does anyone know if there as an alternative to the Microjig dovetail clamp in Australia? They're quite pricey at $90 for a set but since seeing them in Dennis' first video, I keep needing to hold things and think what a useful tool it would be to have in the workshop.

    Kind regards
    Lance

    1. The clamps are the Bessey STC-HH60. The "60" stands for the range of automatic adjustments they have. So, in my case 60mm. I like them a lot, and it really works great!
    2. He will post some pictures

Micro Jig. The Micro jigs looks a lot like a rail guide clamp, but the sides have a dovetail form. But perhaps you can give it a try to remove some material from an rail guide clamp in an angle that is comparable with one of your dovetail router bits you have. Keep in mind that you also need a special bit for the Micro Jigs.

Wow, that's great to know. I did wonder why some clamps were more expensive than others when the sizes were comparable. The automatic adjustment is a stand out feature in my mind, as it's the one thing that drives me nuts with the ones I have, in that I need to continuously adjust them.

I had thought of that. I'm having an internal struggle with myself at the moment though, as to how much time I want to spend making tools rather than working wood. I will go and have a look at what else is available, but unless I can find something that will work well with minimal effort, I'll just spend the money.

    Kind regards,
    Lance

Another great load of ideas, thanks Dennis. I used the same Incra track system for the same reasons, I drilled two holes for the track to locate on and attached pins to the track which drop into the holes. I put the saw on a sliding base so it can be easily moved to line up the original saw fence so if I remove the sub fence/ZCI the saw can be moved to line up with the Incra track. The slide is moved by a threaded rod which I drive with a drill & socket.

    Hi Chris,

The sliding base is a nice feature. My problem now is that if I have to remove the fence, the track system is out of line. With the sliding platform I can adjust this in that situation. Nice to think about in the future because I will change the workbench for the miter saw this or next year.
    Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Dennis, great work.

What is the material you have used for the fence?

    Regards, David

The material I use we call in the Netherlands, Full colored MDF. This is a kind of MDF, but much more heavier and it has a higher density. It looks like valchromat but it is a little bit cheaper.
