Default Where can I get a nice table made?

I am looking for a solid timber table that is 2400mm long x 1200mm/1400mm wide to use as a dining table. Something that has a nice grain. I also want to get some high back chairs (8-10) to match.

Everything that I have looked at so far is mass produced rubbish.

Anyone know some good places in Melbourne that I can see some decent tables or a shop that makes decent tables?

    Thanks.

Try Lignum or LGS (Forum members). But be prepared to pay for quality.

Thanks Rocker. I don't mind paying for a decent table. The pine one we have now is 10 years old and it has lasted well. I only want to upgrade as it isn't big enough.

Anyone can make a table, but most can't make good chairs.

If you want good quality see Lignum who is located at Mordialloc

He's somewhere in Melb (collingwood wherever that is). I've one of his tables and a set of his chairs plus two carvers. Very well made/crafted items ... and as you should expect, not cheap. But what is such a cost over a lifetime or two (or three)

and no I don't get any commission for referrals. Am just a happy customer - he also has an outlet in Syd

    Default Try these

Try Grampians furniture in Halls Gap or Envisage furniture in Shepparton. Both have web sites and the workmanship is fantastic. I visit when I pass through just to admire the craftsmanship and quality.
