Darryl. Spot on. All ties in nicely i think.

Silent - *shrug* yeah i know. Still, we're here to make people happy and if it makes 'em happy to have a different colour, we'll change it (if we have enough complaints - like we have with the orange).

Redback - orange and green are good contrasting colours. I think it will look quite nice. Come and see us in September and have a look in the showroom because by then half will be green and the other half will still be orange. You'll see it will look alright.

But the car is only to get the job done, right? To get you from A to B?? So why not buy a pink one? They're cheaper you know, and they don't work any different to the green ones

Wouldn't bother me, a car is a car. I drive a Ford Station Wagon you see. If a pink one was cheaper, then I would probably consider it. I actually don't drive it that much anyway, so you should really be tallking to the missus.

But since you want to go that way, I don't drive my tablesaw past the local pub. The only person who ever sees it is me.

Hague, I'd be looking at a few other points (which you are no doubt aware of). Firstly, I'd want a colour that reproduced well in advertising. Next, I would want something the staff were happy with and proud of at WW shows. Finally, the colour should not detract from safety or useage. I'd rather a colour like blue which contrasts well with most items placed near or on it.

    Hague,

Thanks for all of this. It is just great that we are able to converse with a supplier in this manner.

As for the colour, one part of me says I don't give a rats but I in reality if there are two machines that are almost identical in price and quality and one is red the other is green I'd go the green one every time.

Incidently, my companies name is Viridian. Viridian is a dark almost British Racing green colour.

BTW, I'm thinking of selling a few things like my dogs and wife so I can afford a ML-392 Combination Planner.

Hague, not tricky but definitely smartass-ish. But that is okay as we all do it at times.

Looking forward to it as I still have a number of wishlist items and am still cashed up as I didn't buy clamps.

BTW I don't care about the colour of your machines. I have tools in various shades of green, grey , blue, red as well as black and of course in wonderfull orange. I'm more concerned with the quality and reliability.

Free but they come with the wife. Not sure you could afford Ms. Grunt. It's not the purchase price that'll get you, it's the up keep.

Colour is far more important than many people think in influencing purchasing.
You could easily start a whole new thread on colour.
Orange is not good. How many orange cars do you see?
Blue has good "properties" strong positive colour, makes thing look solid.
As far as green, I go with the "theatrical position" ,"the only thing that should be painted green is plants"

    cheers

    Most powertools have sharp teeth.
    People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.

Hague - how about white with a grey and red trim or even just grey with a red trim? I'll definitely buy then. The best looking machine I have is the grey compressor I own. I have a multitude of colours including a Triton router table, but I cannot handle your orange.

For what its worth the dark green sounds like another mistake. Good for some cars not machinery. I think its too in your face a colour. Before you decide maybe a poll here would help you come to a decision your potential customers would agree with.

By the way how about an answer to this thread
