Odd jobs, what next?
Woodwork, well some of it.
For those of you who may be wondering what I've been up too since the Revolver/Hide me bookcase etc, well I have had and still going with a lot of other odd jobs. I am still trying to get the trims done at the coffee shop around the revolver/bookcase/cake display. But just to keep things interesting here are a few of the other jobs I have been doing.
1. Picture frame with .22 bullets recessed and glued in. 2. A Morrocan mirror that litteraly had a very hard trip back over from Morroco. 3. Back of the mirror after reasembly. 4. Back together again. 5/6/7.Antique Cedar wardrobe, only the centre panel opened up so I had to slice open and hinge back the two side panels and put new shelves inside. 8. Drawer unit from under the robe had to have concealed metal heavey duty runners. 9/10&8 was repairs to a Morrocan candle stick holder that had the same rough treatment. I had to resolder the base back on, I then drilled a hole in the base and put a fibre glass resin core inside to add to the strength.
Then my carving, the axe handle etc. And a few others I can't even remember. Oh, there was another large picture frame in there too.
Tack Hama has decided we are moving house too, now! ok just to keep life interesting

Not at this stage, this move is an intermeadiate move, the next one should be the one to a house with some more land and a nice big workshop for both me and Tack Hama, she needs one to do here ceramics in too so it will have to be big and divided. I like my loud music and saw dust etc.

Music...loud? Just got my disc player set up in the "soon to be finished shed"....happily listening to Bach, Chopin and other great composers and to vocals like Richard Tauber, Caruso et al, all at a little(?) louder than a moderate level.
Heself enters: "Turn that music down. I can't hear the radio/cd I'm listening to". End of enjoyable volume, now at a level that is drowned by the sound of a hand saw cutting!

Yep, hence the divided (and sound proofed) wall. At the moment 4kms from home it's not an issue.

Love that mirror. What happens to the centre panel in the wardrobe? Not going back in?
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Hi Tony, sorry haven't done your handles yet, still trying to get to the lathe. Yes thought I had a photo of the finished product but must have missed it. All three panels now open up. The original door swings of the side panel the same as before. I put an extra hinge on the top of that panel to help take the weight. Happy customers yet again.
The mirror is very funky, camel skin and camel bone with encrusted jewels. THe whole centre, glass, frame etc had been torn out in transit. The lady who owns it is a writer and has been living in the desert for a year with the Bedouins. She also has two huge doors that I have to make a frame for so they can be used as a screen. 2.4m high, 1.5 wide, weigh a ton and will have to be free standing in the centre of a room. Hmm another brain teaser

Are you going to make a sound and air tight revolver for the divider? I am thinking that if you go this direction you may have to have more then one latch to disconnect the air lock.
And incorporate a secret emergency hatch so when you run out of Anzac biscuits you can quickly sneak in and grab some.
But personally if it was me I would just walk in the main door, say hi honey kiss her on the cheek, tell her that you are here to grab some Anzac's and kiss her on the cheek on the way out.

Your not married are you Christos
This is the desk/bench to go with the Cedar wardrobe. Aust Red Cedar, 3.6m long to be fastened to the walls. Also two book shelves to go on top at each end. Rounded bull nose edge to match the old robe.
