    Default Offering Box

    I completed this offering box over the weekend made of quartersawn white oak. The slit and Cross are bound with ABS plastic guitar binding, what's red is felt.

    Interesting piece. How did you finish it. It looks very dark.

    Yeah it is a little dark isn't it? The white oak timber was that way coming off the jointer/planer/sander. The finish is just two coats of Boiled Linseed Oil (BLO) and 2 coats of rattle can satin lacquer.

    I get that when I take a photo with the flash. Have tried using no flash and it is a little better. But really need more natural light in order to get reasonable photo.
