Default Ooh ooh ooh Mr. Carter!

While I am known in some circles as the Arnold Horshack of woodworking , I did pick up some great band saw tune-up tips at last week's Woodworking Show here in Denver.

I also upgraded my guides and fence to the Carter system...and so far I'm very pleased with the results!

If my calculations are correct, approximately a 1mm cut, impressive.

Getting down to veneer territory, you need a square fence for that.

You coulda' saved your notebook....you can see Alex's bandsaw tune up video on Youtube.
NOTE - This video may give offence to those who passionately believe that you have to adjust your fence to get rid of drift:

Thanks guys! No big storm out this way. We just got a few dustings and some cold wind.

I've got a prozed block of spalted zebrawood in my wood stack that I've been waiting to find something to do with. Now that I have a band saw set-up that I can trust I feel better about reswing it to maximize its use.

For those of you who do a lot of resawing...do you rejoint the face after each cut? I'd like to do some bigger pieces with bent laminations.
