    Post Painter's Easel

    G'day each,
Does anyone have plans/drawings or whatever for a painter's easel? Herself would like a new one and I rashly offered to make one - now I can't find a decent plan anywhere.
Construction needs to be within my own limited abilities and those of my Triton gear.
Any suggestions or links will be much appreciated.

    Thumbs up

    Suggestion 1.

Never commit to a thing like this, you only let the side down!

    Suggestion 2.

You will definately need some new tools to build an easel

    Suggestion 3.

There's six here, have a look and don't forget that new tool you need.

Thanks Ian and johna. Unfortunately I'll have to keep looking, as none of the designs get the nod of approval yet - 'it has to be something that will hold a painting of undefined size, at an angle somewhere between here and about there, and I'll know what I like when I see it' - Ian, from the 'resources lists' in the fact sheets in your links, I'd be hard pressed to use the tools that I have, let alone buy any new ones.
Anyhow, if I can't make one that suits madame, she'll go and buy one - and the cost of that will stop me buying anything new for quite some time!
Thanks anyhow - I now have some new URL's in my Bookmarks file.

I once was friendly with two sisters who's mother owned a haberdashery store.
They would go clothes shopping with a tape measure and no money.
    Try it all on.
Then go back to mothers shop and make the latest fashions.
Does she know any one that has an ezel she likes ?
    If so coppy it.

That's sound advice, man (Sorry, I dunno what came over me).
Actually I've been there, done that. Last Saturday I was escorted to the local art shop and shown the easel herself covets. I think it was made from hand-reared mahogany and had more brasswork than the Titanic. It was 'only' $580 - at Sale Price!
I could possibly duplicate the woodwork, but there's no way I could get the brass (there I go again!)
