    Default Panel Saw Help

    Hi WWF,

    I am looking for a compact panel saw with a 1600 - 2000mm slider.

I have found the Hammer K3 and SCM Minimax SC2 seem very capable however I was wondering if there were any other quality saws I should be considering?

    Cheers
    Damien

I went through a similar exercise a few years ago.
I can't think of any other brands, off the top of my head, besides 'Felder',which also makes Hammer, but they are very spendy.....unless you buy SH.

I wanted to cut Dado's AND have a scoring blade. None of the chinese brands can do that, that I know of, and there is a Hammer dealer in Perth, so that decided for me.
    I bought a Hammer K3.

I have an Altendorf, but not many small ones come up for sale, if your not bothered about age the Wadkin BGP 12" might be a good for what you need they are quite compact and there is one for sale in Kingston (South Brisbane)

    I have a short stroke SCM L'Invincibile si X (2.2m). I had a Robland before (2.4m stroke)

I really like my SCM, but its very pricey. I bought it new.

Some entry level SCM panel saw can be quite flexy. you should try them out before put down any money.

dont think you can go wrong with Robland if they are still made in Belgium

I went through this same exercise a couple of years ago.

    I decided on a K3 Hammer.

Somebody here wrote that if I get one I will smile every time I use it.

    It's true.

    Beautiful saw.

The Robland machines are an option that is well worth looking at.
