Pantry shelf
I'm in the process of adding an additional shelf to our built in pantry.
Is plywood suitable?
Any tips on fixings to the wall (brick and plaster)?
Any tips on sourcing the wood. Seems most timber yards only sell 2440 x 1220 sheets. Could I cut myself with handsaw for transport?

People are going to ask for more information...
But:
1. Plywood is fine if thick enough, and finished in a way that suits what you want (painted? Varnished?). I'd put a length of wood on the front edge for both aesthetic and functional reasons - it'll stop it warping/drooping...
2. I would fix to the wall with a timber batten screwed into rawlplug or equivalent, and then rest it on the batten. Not the most subtle, but functional. This assumes you can run it 'around a corner' to support 3 sides. Use a level to get the batten truely horizontal.
3. Bunnings sells 'hobby' sheets that are cut down in size - not as cost effective per square meter, but cheaper if you are only doing one shelf.
Also have a look at melamine sheet - it's finished on the front edge, and would be my first choice for a pantry, but I don't know what look you are after/what the current stuff you have looks like.

Bunnings will also cut to size and for the most part at no charge if it's 2 cuts or so.
As above I would also fix a timber batten to the wall using self tapping brick screws, such as Tapcon's. I havent had the need to use plugs or Dynabolts since discovering these things.

Thanks. Great tips.
I'm trying to replicate the existing shelving. However won't be able to match the front - the existing have a lip cut at the top to hold the horizontal shelf.
I was going to simply rest the shelf on top of the front horizontal. Nevertheless will look at front panel option.
Will be painting it all.
Odd the local timber yards refuse to cut anything so looks like it will be bunnings.
