Two years ago I took my wife to the WWW show and she convinced me to go back and have another look at the bandsaw I liked, then convinced me to buy it. Two years before she pointed out that if I bought the CT table saw they throw in a dusty, and I wouldn't get a deal like that again.
Yes, I would take my wife to the wood show.

She loves it... even gets more enthusiastic about buying wood than me... can literally double my budget for wood (not tools ) if she comes

Wouldn't go without her. Matter of fact couldn't go without her. Not only is she my wife she's my business partner and the only one with brains enough to keep me on the straight and narrow.
For anyone contemplating taking their partner (who may be bored) to Sydney, there's always other distractions....... More Park Entertainment Precinct is opposite, with markets, restaurants, shopping, movies, Fox Studio tours, rides, shows, etc.. Take the kids as well and they can make a day of it whilst you do the show.
Cheers - Neil
PS there are now lots of lounge areas for rests, etc not to mention the excellent Forum Lounge where the partner can hide from you or vice versa.

As a general rule, taking your partner to a WW show is a bad idea. They will be:
1. Bored, or
2. Asking "why do you need that?", or
3. Telling you "that's too exxy.", or
4. Nagging you about finishing "that hall table."
But the most important reason is that he/she will then know what the bloody tools cost, so you have lost your capability to tell him/her that:
"the set of chisels was really only [insert lower $$ here].Cheers,
Bob

Considering LOL is driver/carer she usually has to take me. This isn't just to shows but also to group/club/demo days.
An insight each week club day, (she is at this time a member but won't be renewing), Kiama Woodies in March, Blue Mountains Demo days, Trend Timbers Open day were the club demo's at, H&F's twice a year demo in November sale in March, Newcastle but missed out this year although double benefit as they hold their crafts in the other hall.
Then some times I go to her spinners & weavers things like recently The Black Wool Festival at Robertson where Southern Highlands Turners displayed so I was out there chatting. Their Biggest Morning Tea, The Local council Club's day at Fairfield and occasional show or demo.

depends on SWMBO's disposition and/or sense of humour
last time I took mine to a wood show I scored a lovely wooden mechanics tool box as my Father's Day gift.
as to how much tools cost, I told mine what the total worth was -- less (just) than she has "invested" in clothes and shoes and china. so I'm sweet for a while
but maybe the bigger plus has been to keep separate bank accounts and credit cardsregards from Alberta, Canada

Mrs Phil loves going to the shows, she always makes sure I have a pocket full of money and she also buys me cool stuff, last time it was a Lie Nielson low angle smoother, another tome it was a Leigh dove tail jig and there was the time she got me a nice little Lie Nielson smoother. God Bless her
