how many bollards (of each shape) do you want to make?

if more than 2 or 3, you should be looking at a multi-part steel mould.
Timber will work for one or two, but will start to get expensive as you destroy much of each mold to release the final shape.

I think he want someone to make the original to make the mould off. The "model" if you will. would be your best bet if there isn't someone in Sydney.

I'm thinking the OP means concrete casting moulds.

Can be done in wood, but a bit of a challenge -- each 900 x 300 (diametre) bollard would weigh around 150kg plus the weight of the mould.
bending ply on the inside of a braced wooden "barrell" might be the way to do it.

Concrete composition, water content and lots of vibration are the key to a decent surface finish off the mould.

Hi mate. This may be of interest to you. I did a job a while ago for a concrete works down here in Tassie who wanted some moulds for some concrete bollards. They had a few different designs they wanted. I made the patterns for the molds from craftwood (which I hate using). I then spraypainted the patterns with a 2 pac sealer. The patterns then went to a fiberglasser who made the molds from my patterns. Then the concreter made lots (maybe 20-30 for each design) castings in concrete from the molds. The job was for a council project along the river Derwent foreshore. Maybe to stop idiots driving into the river as well as a form of seating.
Pictures show my patterns and finished product.
TIP..... its a tricky job to quote on!
