If you look in the current edition [Feb.2002] of the "Australian Woodworker Magazine", and you turn to page 46, you will see 3 photos of some rustic furniture I help a visitor make and a little story of how they were made. Hoop pine branches are particularly beautiful with a silver sheen and a good finish and with almost no cracking and some of them have very interesting twists.
I’ve got about 50 acres of hoop pine trees here [look at www.forestgrowers.com.au] that I have planted over time and many of them need pruning but unfortunately I don’t make rustic furniture myself and I’m wondering if anyone out there would be interested?
