I've certainly threaded my share of pipe(Conduit) in my time. If you're
dealing with US made pipe clamps, you could expect to see *tapered*
threads. Just one of those little differences that make things interesting.
Rigid made a tool that was a stand with a motor to turn the pipe and
a die holder. Typically coupled with a cutting oil reservoir and pump to
keep continuous oil on the die. You might find this in a hire place, though
rigid steel conduit or pipe is rare in Oz these days.
Cheers,

I have got quite a lot of second hand 3/4 pipe from various sources and threaded it on the lathe, works fine and is not hard work, although doing 16 ends took me a little while.
