Pirate Cannon Base Plans Required
Afternoon All,
I have acquired a small cannon barrel and am looking at wanting to build a base for it similar to those found on an old pirate ship.
I have googled plans for cannon base and not had much luck in locating anything.
Just reaching out to the wider community here to see if anyone has ever completed anything like this and if so how they went about it.
In the mean time i may look at drafting something up off of photos to see how i go.
Will also be looking at doing the steelwork for the capsquare bands over the trunnons.
The barrel is around 52cm long

Looks great.
Is it operational or has any historical value been destroyed by having it made inoperable?
I see that you are in NSW, not wanting to rain on your enthusiasm but check out your legal status ASAP as cannons are classed as firearms.

Morning Bob,
I have no history on this cannon at all.
It was found in the back of my parents garage when they moved into their "new" home.
I am not even sure what its purpose was.
You can see from the photos that the vent has been welded up, so the cannon is inoperable.
Looking to build this up as display only.
Thank you for the comment, I will look into the legalities.
