    Default Plantation Shutters

Thought I would give them a go. Made rails and styles out of 32mm MDF, louvers out of 12mm MDF - 90mm wide 3 inch on centre. I was not sure about the louver pins, but guess what large aluminium pop rivets did the job. A lot of mistakes, but have sorted out. You cannot be out 1mm or other wise the louvers bind. I used hidden tilt rod made from thin piece of aluminium.

i wouldnt have used mdf in humidity it tends to bend, western red cedar is great for them plus you can just oil them and retain that natural timber look, just my opinion ,but sounds like it was fun to build them anywy.......bob
