Please read!! Very general question about possibilities of woodwork..
Basically, I am creating a small plastic drink bottle – complete with ribbing (small bits that jut inwards a little, think of plastic soft drink bottles) and I was wondering if it is possible to make something like this out of wood. It would have to be smooth and nice on the outside, with the ribbing bits done precisely.. the lid and stuff can be fake, and its okay if it is solid – otherwise it would be too hard to make. I have no idea if the local craftsperson or carpenter can do this easily or not.
So i was wondering if someone clever who knew about this sort of thing could give me an idea of if this is possible - basically i am going to design a plastic bottle and give it to a woodworker/lumberjack/craftsperson etc to design into a solid wood bottle. Is this possible? Should I use clay instead and do it myself?
Thank you for your help!!

I'm sure it would be possible.
Do I surmise from the clay question that you do pottery too?anne-maria.

A good woodturner could probably turn it up on the lathe no problem. They might have to hand carve the bottom of the bottle if it has those little "feet" etc.
How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?
