When I was after a plug cutter(8mm) I ended up buying a set of Veritas plug cutters, the set was composed of the 6, 8 and 10mm cutters.
I purchased this from Carbatec when they had a special promotional at the time. I don't know if Veritas make a 25mm plug cutter.
Here is the link to Carbatec https://www.carbatec.com.au/drilling...r-10mm-veritas.
If you have not used a plug cutter before and you have more then one plug to make, setup the depth stop on the drill press so that the plug does not bottom out. If it does the plug might be pulled up in the cutter and that just take longer as you have to stop and take the plug out before you can continue.

Another vote for the Veritas - I use the 10mm only, and it is a massive improvement over the "no name" version I was using before.
Biggest one they make is a 1/2" version, I've never come across a 25mm plug cutter in my travels !

well, in those sizes there's these ones from Lee Valley Carbide-Tipped Dowel, Plug & Tenon Cutters - Lee Valley Tools
these from Dictum in Germany https://www.dictum.com/en/tools/wood...cutter-o-20-mm
and these also from Germany Tenon Cutters, Tapered Snug Plug Cutters | FINE TOOLS
and these from Austria Woodworking Tools : N° 3100 STUBAI tenon cutters which I think are carried by thewoodworks.com.au
and no doubt Brett will be along shortly to wax lyrical about Colt bitsregards from Alberta, Canada

Well, I'm along, but sans wax. Colt do have a range of plug cutters, but I have to say I prefer the look of the carbide ones that Ian linked to - I'm about to purchase one (been on the list for some time). I did buy a couple of Colts, but never used them before selling them - they looked very Chinese.
However, they must work ok because the chap who bought them had previously purchased a couple, so I assume he had used them successfully.

Thanks for all this valuable info, very much appreciated. Have ordered a set of 3 metric Veritas smaller cutters via the group buy. Many thanks to Brett
