Where to buy cheap laminex or laminate?
Hi All
I am in the process of building my own router table and am keen to use laminex/laminate for the top.
I have recently been quoted $75 for a 1.8 x .75m piece of plain white.
This seems rather expensive to me, am I wrong?
If not, can anyone recommend where else to source a suitable material for the table top.
Thanks

Don't bother with Bunnings or the other big ones, try all the cheap second hand building suppliers you can. I found 1300 square laminate sheeting up here for around $20 a sheet at one of those places that sells old doors, taps, etc...
It's a bugger to find but when you do worth buying an extra sheet.
Good luck with the router table.____________________________________________

If you're ever in Sydney I have some laminate. You could have a 1800 x 750mm piece for like $20 -$30 as long as you're not too fussy about what colour it is

My suggestion would be to try a kitchen manufacturer or a commerical office outfitters in your area, I'm in Sydney so can't suggest anyone in Adel. You could either approach them to cut you a piece to size, or if you're lucky you might get an offcut that will do the job. A lot places around here leave scraps out the front, most of these are small though so you'd be lucky to get one 1.8 long.. Worth a try though.
Good luck
Cheers
