    Default portuguese cork oak

g'day, we have a wonderful portuguese oak tree in our backyard in Perth W.A., unfortunately the person who planted it many years ago did so only a couple of metres from the house, consequently it is causing a lot damage and needs to be removed - (We have put this costly and destructive exercise off for years as we love the tree, but we need a roof over our heads!) I am told by the tree surgeon that the wood and it's beautiful bark would be of interest to woodworkers, furniture makers & artists...
    anyone interested?

Actually maybe you should have a chat to your local vineyard. Portuguese cork trees make the best cork for wine so I am told Due to a world wide shortage of good cork we have gone to screw tops. In fact recycling of used corks is well under way.
Peeling the bark off is not too hard although some skill is required, seeing your bringing the tree down theres no need for finesse
