Powermatic/Jet 720HD morticer
Hi all, wondering if anybody has any experience of this machine. http://www.powermatic.com/Products.aspx?Part=1791309 It's a heavy duty 1 1/2 HP morticer with 2 axis tilting, and the ability to accept a workpiece up to 46 inches high. A bit heftier than most, but maybe worth it for the angle adjustability, and hopefully strength, stiffness and repeatability.
Seems to sell in the US for just under $2,000 US.
Do the angle adjustments stay put once set, and is it easy to get back to vertical settings?
Does anybody have any idea if it's available in Europe?
Thanks...

Thank you for that Bob. I'm in Ireland, so not much i can do about that.
One issue here is that the 719T is not available here or in the UK either - only the 719A non tilting model. So i can't get to look at it.
The 720 HD is horribly expensive, seems like a lot to pay for the ability to mortice the end face of a table leg for example (as i'm thinking of doing as part of a 3 way mitre joint)
Do you guys reckon the 719T gives away anything to the 719A in terms of stiffness and accuracy?
Wondering if the 719A might not be the best option in a Jet. Cheaper and possibly more solid. Maybe use angle blocks for angle morticing. The head remounts 180 deg to the rear to do long parts, although some sort of fixturing would be needed.
Still searching around, looking at Multico and the like.....

Thanks for the info Harry.
Peculiarly enough i found last night while digging around that the layout of the 720HD looks like it could owe more than a little to a very similar format Multico model....
