Pressing Matters
I had to replace my drill press table made back in 2010 after I spilt a cup of tea on my old one a while back. Melamine its self doesn't have a problem with fluids but chip board does. So with a call to my son who supplied a new piece of 35mm thick MDF I made some design changes and got to the stage I felt comfortable with posting. Not quite finished but close enough just waiting for WoP to dry drill a 2" waste hole fit clamping on the underside. Even had to use the Myford on this job.

Looks good Ray. Mines held on with an F clamp. I really should sort that out
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Part 2 finished
Thanks Tony.
I finished it off over the last few days and made one major change to the drill press for ease of operation when its fitted.
As many who have made them know if you have a height winder handle they just don't seem to like the table.
So a large nut drilled out, a grub screw fitted and a spare 13/64 spark plug socket and ratchet (I have a few) its so darn easy now to raise and lower a flick of the ratchet switch and done minutely if need be. (Edited spelling and its was a nut drilled out not a bolt)

Looks a good idea, Ray. I use an Ezy-lift, counterbalanced system, so the winder has been removed.
My drillpress has a round table, so I fitted a round "socket" to the bottom of the aux. table that fits around the CI table, with a shaped block that engages in one of the radial slots, to locate it.
This allows me to lift the aux. table on and off without needing to release clamps or knobs.

You're a genius Ray. I'm stealing that idea immediately.

My drillpress is an old Hamilco, but they were all much the same 20 years ago, all out of the same factory!.
I've never had a problem with the aux. table coming off, all the pressure on the table is in the centre while drilling. I decided not to fit tracks but to pivot it at one end and clamp the other. I've never needed anything more in 10 years of use.

There was a thought that crossed my mind using an old battery powered drill.
