I'm in the process of designing and making a new bed frame for myself as sleeping on the floor is making it nearly impossible to get out of bed in the mornings (bad knees+ laziness).

I have a whole stack of seasoned 90x35x2.5m that was for my shop rebuild venture but as I didn't end up using it I thought I would whip up a full size model of the current design I had come up with, about 3/4 of the way through I decided that it was a bit nice to be just a model/working prototype so my bed-frame project turned into a daybed-frame project.

anyway I filmed it and made a little video showing how I made my "daybed"
From youtube

In this video I make an elegant day bed for under $45!
Made entirely out of 2x4s for the frame and recycled pine decking for the slats, all that's missing is a mattress and some sunny weather!

Note: I will be the first person to say that I should add a rail down the center of the bed and I will be doing so, but as I am waiting for hardware to arrive from overseas I decided to upload the video before the project was completely finished.
