Pull saw accessories
Is it just me or do others have the same problem, after buying another new kabata at the sydney show I again caused myself a loss of blood on the first day , these saws should come with a box of band-aids as compulsory accessories, I just forget how sharp these damm saws are , if they wern't so bloody good I wouldn't use them on oc health and safety grounds alone

I have never tried one yet so can't comment on them. Mind you all other saws can draw blood as well. I just got a reminder from the bandsaw yesterday. I had left off the lower guard and reached under to adjust the table angle. I was fortunate that it was only a nick. I look at as a reminder to do things right next time.

All tools come with the risk of eating into the fingers and other parts, gave the old finger a slice with the chisel yesterday, at least I know it's sharp heh. Never having used a pull saw before I can't speak about them, really

I believe there are things you can get to improve your memory, other than blood letting, which is SO medieval.
Hasten slowly.
And think, If someone sneaks up behind you & gives you a fright, you can give them a pasting with the saw they will not soon forget

Seriously this sounds like a tread recently about another forum member who stuck their hand into a tablesaw and then a little later a router.
I will tell you what I told him (Slow Down) I have been using Jap saws for 20 years and never a nick so If you are doing it on a regular basis then you must just be using so little care as to make it inevitable.
I also suspect thet if you are taking so little care of where the blade goes you are likely hitting other things you shouldnt with the blade probably leading to tooth damage.
I think it fair to assume that if you lack care with hand tools then machines are a real risk for you.
Take Care
