    Question general purpose saw blade

I am currently using a 12 inch 72 tooth bevel cut blade in my saw table. Is this OK for most applications eg ripping and crosscutting. Timbers used are a mixture of soft and hardwoods. My table will accept up to 16 inch, but please bear in mind the finance manager has severely limited my budget Any suggestions for an additional/supplementary blade would be appreciated.

    Cheers, Micro

    Micro,
72 teeth is fine for crosscutting, but I would add a rip blade, something around 24 - 30 teeth. You'll find that when ripping with a 72 tooth blade your feed speed will need to be positively geriatric to prevent burning.

I'm using a CMT 10" 40 tooth combo blade at present. Seems to handle both ripping and crosscutting reasonably well. Was about $50 off memory.
How much wood could the woodchuck chuck if the woodchuck could chuck wood?
