PVC / "Foamwood" timber substitute in Australia
Hi All,
Hope this is ok in this section.
Would any of you suggest a supplier of PVC / "Foamewood" timber substitute in Australia?
I saw something like this on This Old House and am looking for a fully synthetic timber substitute.
Thanks for your time everyone.

synthetic wood
Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought foam wood was an insulating material. One synthetic wood material that's being advertised and is available is Mod wood.
cheers

Hi Lappa,
I found the Mod Wood product and it's a pvc / wood composite. The manufacturer says you can expect some swelling & distortion if it's to be used outside (with prolonged contact with moisture) unfortunately.
I've seen it used in the U.S. on this old house as the finishing timber on the risers of a set of exterior stairs.
It was definitely finishing timber rather than insulation though it would definitely be an ok insulator too.
