Anyone in S/E Qld interested in entering 'Create from a crate'?

Looking for anyone in Brisbane region interested in entering a Victorian competition 'Create from a Crate' http://wasteconverters.com.au/RecyclingCompetition.php

The idea is you are given 2 (free) pallets to recycle into furniture/useful objects instead of them being thrown into landfill.

As the competition (with up to $3000 prize money) is run from Vic, it will be more attractive for the organisers to fork out on transportation costs if there are sufficient entrants to make it worthwhile.

The next comp is for 2015 so you'll have a year to dry the wood and make something.

I'd commend this to anyone thinking about it. It's good fun, the Vics are very friendly and it's very well organised. The timber in the pallets is pretty good, although varied. Several of us from NSW entered this year and went down for the opening of the exhibition. Great night!

I asked a few questions of the organizers for this one just gone, they deemed Rocky too far, but if we can get them to Bris then maybe we can get them to Rocky

if that could happen I'd be interested.

The organisers are looking at opening up for entries in about a month, so a delivery of pallets to a Brisbane depot where we'd collect from shortly after that.

However I suspect they'll want more than 2/3 people to make it worthwhile....SURELY THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE INTERESTED??

Evanism - I think you may have misunderstood - entries for this year are shut (winners etc already been decided) but entries for next year (submit your completed piece in Feb 2015) are about to open.

Further update - entry guidelines almost finished; decision will be made soon on whether pallets can be shipped to Brisbane and maybe Rockhampton
