Hey 9F...
I have a few books on period furniture at home-did you want construction details or a primer on the style?

Dont you like it?
I think it is cool, I would of course have to get some bats for the belfrey, and a big ugly butler.
I am thinking of heading back out to outer Ballarat, can you imagine that thing built on a bush block?

9Fingers,
American Furniture of the 18th Century, by Greene. ISBN 1-56158-104-6.

Dito on the Greene book. It is the best single volume on my shelf.
You can find links to many sites and resources on the American Period Furniture Maker's site located at www.sapfm.org.
The journals alone are worth the price of membership. The gallery is the fast way to feelings of inadequacy though Some very skilled craftsmen are members.
Not for those who see no value in period furniture, so please no flames on that score.
Best,

Hi Clinton...
Scholarly articles on period furniture, joints, proportions, veneering, making of inlays, etc . Obscure ads from small makers of brassware. They are slim, but high quality. I think that I may be the only Australian member so far. I'd like to attend the annual workshop one day, but that might be a long time coming.
