    Default Another question from Wolffie

I seem to have some hard baked pith on my cutters and saw blades.
In the manual I am told to clean the pith with solvent.
BUT, nowhere does it tell me what kind of solvent will dissolve pith.
    What is it?
Acetone is a solvent, paint thinner is a solvent, paint brush cleaner is a solvent, turps can be regarded as a solvent too.
What do I use and where do I get it, please?
    Cheers

    G'day.

Try oven cleaner.... the stuff that comes in a pressure pack can.

Check the can for the fast acting stuff 'cos some of it takes an hour or more.

Mind the fumes, they are bloody awful.

I use Mr. Muscle oven cleaner. Don't use the caustic stuff as it can affect the metal so I'm told.
Be generous with it, and leave it there for an hour or more, then wash it off with plenty of soapy water.
I've also had success with isopropyl alcohol that I was given, not sure where you'd buy it. Not a lot of joy with other solvents.

My table thanks you very much
I had a can of "Easy Off" in the cupboars, it worked a treat.
