Fine Woodworking #172
Have any subscribers received FWW # 172 yet (The one with the clamps on the cover.) It's been out in the USA for some time, and I thought I should have received it by now. Just concerned that it may have gone astray in the post, as used to happen occasionally a couple of years ago, but seemed to have been sorted out.

Mine hasn't shown up yet either Alex. I wrote to them and they said my subscription is current and that they would send me another copy of #172 seeing as it hadn't arrived. Maybe I'll be getting two

Thanks Silent & Major. I'll get on to them. In the past they've always sent a new one straight away. I'm starting to worry about our postie. Yesterday I discovered that my driver's licence had expired last month. Went to renew it and complained that I hadn't received a renewal notice. They looked it up on the puter and said it had been returned 'Not known at this address'. I've had other peoples' mail in my box sometimes, so don't know what's happening.

I've had one go astray, and like you Alex, they replaced it straight away. I bought a couple of back issues and received only an empty envelope with a neat slit along the top. I emailed them, and they AIRMAILED replacements which arrived three days later.
I wish some of our local companies could provide service like that!
Cheers,
P

Your mail will be in the box by 07:30 (if it's addressed to the box #), it won't get knocked off or wet. If you do get a PO box don't forget to notify everyone like your changing address. You get a free redirection to your box for 6 months, after that your mail will be delivered to your home address again. While your redirection is running be aware that your mail will be a day late as it goes through the mail redirection system.
Just to add to your problems your postie (should) change every month. They do a mininum of 3 delivery rounds & rotate every month.

I keep reading about the fww mag. Could anyone comment on it, and maybe give me a contact address for a subscription.
Tony.

Some on this forum have had trouble using the web subscription service, but I have only good things to say!
good luck!

I find it an excellent magazine, and the subscription rate is pretty good compared to news stand prices. Generally, it arrives before it's in the shops, and when copies went missing a few years ago the air mailed replacements.
In this case, when I emailed them I received an immediate reply telling me the date it was mailed and the latest date I should expect it by.
