Knotted walnut veneer in Melbourne?
Hi All,
I've been searching and searching... I've built this really nice Antique replica digital clock using glass valves (nixie tubes- check them out on ebay). I'm trying to wrap the whole thing in real walnut veneer (or some other kind of grainy knotted wood), but cannot find a place that even sells real veneer.
I'm located in NE Melbourne suburbs. Anyone have any ideas where I can get some (small amount- about two sheets of 12X12")? Or does anyone have any they want to sell me!?
thanks

There is a place in Ringwood who advertises in Aus Woodsmith, as I am on my way out I cannot find one now but will advise when I find it.

There is a place in Brooklyn That imports veneers in large quanities. I think they are in Ravenscourt Rd or Kalingra Rd Melway Ref 41 B6 I got some Elm veneer from Laceys in Albion St but it was expensive and I think they have moved or disapeared.
I still have some of the Elm veneer somewhere it was knotty from what I have in the kitchen if you are interested I could look for it.
