You could also try linclon sentry. I think they sell Blum draw runners. They have a small display in the queanbeyan show room but i am not sure about there other stores though.

I've used both Hettich & Hafele. They seem similar, but Hettich have a better distribution network. Have a look at the Hettich catalogue - can't post a direct link to the runners as it times out - as they have several different types, but the ones in the attachment here are the ones you want, I think.

Nover at Eastern Creek sell all that kind of stuff.

Yep, Nova, also a kitchen place in Castle Hill have Hettich in stock. Mr. Ply & Wood have a lot of Hettich stuff & will get the rest in.

Fully agree with Ian on this.

I have just done a complete kitchen renovation and, eighteen months ago, as practice, I built an eighteen drawer unit for my shed and used every type of drawer runner that I could find. No sales hype involved when I chose the runners for the kitchen.

For soft close runners, based on eighteen months usage, I opine:

* Blum and Hettich are in a league above all other manufacturers including Hafele.

* Blum is marginally smoother in operation than Hettich.

* Blum Tandembox (ie concealed runner) is marginally smoother than Blum TandemboxPlus (runners inside metal sides).

The differences between the above are so marginal that I would chose on design considerations, price and who the local agent was.

For other runners, those unbranded chinese full extension ball bearing runners sold by both Blum and Hettich agents (around $15) are very high quality and very good value for money.

Those powder coated runners sold by big-chains are crap and grossly over priced for their quality.

Those Blum Tandembox runners look like waht I was thinking about. Now I've just got to find a distributor with a display of them.

I looked up the Nover website, and they list Hettich runners, but not Blum. I might have to give them a ring.

Any other suggestions (or suppliers I should try)?

Wilson Bradley and Lincoln Sentry are both Blum stockists and have branches everywhere. More agents on Blum website.

I used Blum concealed soft close runners on my sideboard and found them great. Purchased them from Lincoln Sentry.

The draws were fairly small (70mm high) and the concealed runners take up quite a bit of room underneath but in the end it was worth it.

guys, maybe I'm off the mark here, but I just rang Lincoln Sentry and got a price from the for Blum Tandembox 500mm runners.

2x catches - $2.61 each (need 2 per drawer).
Runners - $88.02 per pair.

PLUS GST

that comes to $96.82 per drawer. I'll have 14 drawers in this chest of drawers.

The Boss has vetoed them at that price (or anywhere in the $1000+ hemisphere) and I don't blame her.

Either Lincoln Sentry are trying to take me for a ride, or I need to find another option that is realistic.

Suggestions/comments?
