recycled veneer/flexible wood: light work: help
Hi, new to site...and wood working for that matter.
4th year Uni student looking into sustainable lamp designs, am looking for help/info on where to source flexible wood off cuts, veneer etc...
The wood would be cut into strips and assembled/bent/fixed as spherical lamp shade.
If anyone can supply/help or has info on Melbourne suppliers of off cuts or cheap recycled timber sources I'd really appreciate it.
Extra questions:
* if you can help me to specify the names of wood appropriate to my project I'd love that too.
*have been pulling my hair out searching for fire retardant sprays or paints suitable for my project... is this even necessary for wood?
Cheers
Georgie

This is a thread double post (other in 'market') because I'm unsure on where to post exactly...sorry
