Red cedar Double bow windsor rocker
Got all the turning done now the bows. No steam bending for me don't know if cedar lends itself to steamimg so laminated strips around a form to make the bows. Got 11 strips made up of 9 @ 2mm thick x 28mm wide sandwiched between 2 strips 3.5mm x 28mm for the outer to allow for clean up & sand. Trying to end up with 25mm x 25mm although it appears I have to pare down & shape a bit.
I looked at "ZED" post on 15-12-10 about bending so allowed a few mm for spring back I guess I''ll see in the morning.
Cheers Barry.

Next instalment a couple of days late. The first laminated bow I did was just average, bin I think. Didn't use a strap pulled it around by hand & clamped it & ended up with cracks in the outer lam strip.
Decided to do the arm rest bow & used a hoop iron strap, pulled 13 strips 3mm thick x 40mm wide 30 hr later took it off the form this evening. Just 4mm spring back.
Barry.
