Red Gum Low-Line Entertainment Cabinet
This is a Low Line for plasma out of Red Gum. (Can’t remember what size
of the TV) but the extreme edges were 1200mm, so I made the outer leg to leg the exact same width with an 80mm overhang. Also included are my Domino handles
Need to make a bracket to attach the Plasma to it as i cant find a commercial one anywhere. When I do (next Wednesday) I will take a pic with it on and post it

Nice.
Are the panels solid or veneer? It looks like veneer in picture 3 but I am probably wrong.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com

Sweet looking tv cabinet. Handles are a highlight
What do you mean about the plasma bracket? Doesn't it just sit on top on a stand

Plasmas look horrible sitting on their own stand, covers up all that beautiful red gum,
Im making two 20mm angle iron fitngs around 500mm in length, and will screw them (top 100mm) to the back of the Plasma and the lower 400mm will attach to the back of the cabinet. I made the top with no overhang at the back and used 17mm ply backing for strength. It will look terrific and streamlined. I will post pics of the brackets next week.
I do find it strange that furniture designer/makers arnt pushing the sleek sexiness of Plasmas to incorporate them instead of making a cabinet that you just plonk it on.

Hi Lignum,
Yep, what they said, very nice work indeed. Just love those handles too.
Can't wait to see your brackets and the plasma and the cabinet come together. It is going to look pretty special I reckon.
Know what you mean about TV stands, some very ordinary thinking goes into some of those stands and brackets. Could be a market for Lignum brackets.
Cheers

Yup, ok. makes sense. I think I've seen similar to what you're talking about. Would probbaly need more than 100mm on the plasma though - from what I remember of mounting a small LCD on the kitchen wall the mounting holes are about 2-300mm up from the bottom. I guess each tele would be different though.
Can't wait to see the end result.

All class with simple lines. You show you don't have to have fancy to look good. Well done.
