Dear woodies and woodinees,

Before I start. To our respected administrators. If I am crossing
any boundaries and/or stepping on some toes I do apologize and I will
remove the post as soon as prompted to do so.

My name is Alexander and I make furniture in Brisbane.
Recently I moved houses and at the moment I am finalizing
my workshop downstairs for the purpose of completely working
for myself from home in the next little while. My goal is to specialize in
laminating offcuts of all sorts into bigger surfaces for variety of
purposes.

As part of my activities, I would like to have a little woodcraft sale on the regular basis (probably half a day a week). I will be selling some of my work, some restored and un-restored pieces and so on.

Is there anyone who would like to join me on this undertaking? Looking for someone who would like to sell their creations. It is going to be quite small to start off with and there are no guarantees that it will go anywhere. Though I think an opportunity is better than no opportunity. Website for my business is going up shortly. I've got all the tools in my disposal to bump it right up in google in reasonable time. The sale is going to be a part of it if there is enough interest from suppliers. The house is located on the decent size road with excellent dynamics for the purpose of exposure and advertising and reasonable foot traffic. It's an up-market area (Bulimba-Balmoral)

The point I will stress is that I am not looking to make money out of other people's labours. All the profit and exposure will go straight to the maker. If this will grow there might be an admin fee at some stage, but I dare say it's a long way off.
The main idea of all this is to bring awareness to local people (and hopefully beyond) about woodworking, timber, waste and so on. As well as a connection point. As part of my grand scheme in the near future, i would like to hold s few classes in basic woodworking/turning/handyman type stuff, including classes for ladies. Mostly free. Hoping to grow that a little bit and have master classes with real experts in all timber industries and beyond.

Idea is to let people know that there is folk out there still practicing manual arts and bloody good at it. I just recently found out that there was one (1!!)
French polisher apprenticeship complete last year. I think we can turn it(pun intended) around.

Back to the sale. If you are interested, pm me, then just drop item/s off (wouldn't recommend posting anything at this stage). I will manage the rest.

Thanks for reading.

Alex
