Renovation - joining 2 different pich roof together
Hi Everyone,
My name is Bruce ad I'm new in this forum. I hoped everyone is well!!
I would be appreciated if someone could help me wit this problem. I doing an extension to my house and the existing house pitch is much higher than the new extension (see image highlight in red clouded).
I was wondering if this would be constructible? or it can only be the same pitch to joint together?
Regard.
Bruce

Bruce,
Maybe you should put this post in the Renovate Forum. You will get better responses over there.

That shouldn't be a problem as your new roof being a lower pitch should run into the old even though your half span is greater than the existing.
Your new roof is 22.5º pitch, what is the old one , 30º ?

No problem at all, the only thing that wont line up is the fascia and gutter of the new assuming that the new ceiling height is the same as the existing, if it is and the eaves are the same width, then the new fascia and gutter will be higher than the existing.
If you want to maintain the same fascia and gutter line then the new walls will have to be LOWER to achieve this.
Are you doing this yourself or contracting it out?The person who never made a mistake never made anything
Cheers

...show the plan to a truss manufacturer, he will show you how it's done, very simple really.
