Rental houses
Just wondering who out there is still renting and has set their shed up in a rental property. We rent and I have just put my deposit on a combo machine wich weighs about 200kgs, should I just stop until we own our own place or did people find the move easy enough?
Thanks,
BW.

I have moved twice with all my equipment from the last 2 rentals. The last one included moving the shed as well.
For the first move I hired a container and filled it to the brim with all my gear and all of my dry timber as the place I was moving to didn't have a shed or garage but I put up a shed with the landlords permission.
For the second move I use my trailer and truck combined with an engine crane as I was moving everthing straight into a shed already estalished on the new placeCheers

Moving machinery can be expensive, sometimes needing small cranes, lift back trucks and helpers. However, provided you think about how you can move things in the future it should not stop you. Just one more thing to consider really.
Btw, I retitled the thread for you from "hoses" to "houses", I thought you'd get more responses that way.

Make up mobile bases for as much as you can
And I found using the hammerlok style benches are a great Idea as they collapse completely for transport and are very strong.

we havent rented in many years but have moved several times... and one still has to remove everything when one does that so does that count?
There is another move coming up and its going to be deadly ... gawd the amount of gear we have gathered since the flood!!! ...40ft seatainer behind the shed is half full of ours and the older kids gear (finally sorted that one but then she added stuff from her parents recent house sale and were back to square one ) then the house and all our gear in here and then the yard and that includes 2 caravans 8x5 trailer 2 old cars along with my two cars and her highnesses car along with stacks of planks and raw logs (which is growing daily for some reason) THEN theres the shed... not a single mobile base among them!
So plan is to hire a truck with a powered tailgate... you know where the tailgate comes down as a whole with a push of a button you load the whatever on the tailgate and press the other button and upsydaisys... and make a quick rush to Carbetex to grab a couple of mobile bases 5 Im thinking... quickly set them up under the mongrel machines so they roll then she'll be easy as... sorta... maybe?
Still going to get one of those wee cranes on wheels for lifting since I think were gonna have an issue or two with getting stuff into and out of the effy and trailer so I can see one of them as being helpfull on the old back
And finally we will hire a 4mtr trailer for the timber moove at $70 a day or if your lucky and grab it for weekend $80 the best option we can think of
Im estimating it will take a few days this time... but luckily we wont be in any hurry
Oh and shes decided she wants to be nearer the sea and her parents so its to Australind or Eaton shes thinking of going...shes presently looking at places around where Ramps is renting just north of Australind but thats pointless cause theyre moving to somewhere else when the new house (they scored for friggin free! ) is up... me? Im ready for a BIG move to the east but well shes the bossBelieve me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

Find a friendly removalist.
I have moved a few times over the years and my removalist friend has been excellent.
They pulled the timber out of the racks, loaded the rack then restacked the racks in the truck. Then did it in reverse at the other end. The 4m long bench/cupboards went on and off in 2 pieces (I had planned for this )
They did enjoy criticising all the cra.. woodworking toys I have but then admitted they had a fair collection of 'things' themselves.
Go for it.
Life's too short not to have your toys.Scally

I moved 3 yrs ago and my shed was the worst and hardest thing. Now SWMBO wants to move again.
God give me strength.Don't force it, use a bigger hammer.
Timber is what you use. Wood is what you burn.

We also rent and so I now have all machines on mobile bases and have built a tool cabinet also on wheels. Should be able to wheel most these out to the truck onto the tail gate lift and then into the truck. The theory worked well for my 200kg saw bench last time.
