Repurposing bits from an old (?) cedar chest of drawers - ideas?
Hi folks,
Picked up an old chest of drawers today for not much moneys, still not sure if they're cedar or kauri or something else entirely as they've been stained a mahogany colour. They're not in great nick and not worth restoring as an antique piece (some deep surface scratches, a couple of drill holes and nails, original handles have been removed and big holes drilled to install ugly new handles, and three of the four front corners of the top and base have been cut off at a 45 degree angle...weird I know).
Anyway, just looking for some ideas as to what I could repurpose the various bits and pieces for! The drawers should be easy - I'm thinking possibly adding some ply (maybe) dividers and reusing them as shadow box shelving that can be hung on the wall. Or i could even use the backing boards for the dividers! It has 4 x turned bun-style feet which could be used on another project.
So just wondering if you lot have any brilliantly creative ideas for repurposing some if these bits and bobs? Will post pics tomorrow, it's too dark now!
