    Default Reshipping from UK

I've used ReShip from USA quite often and found prices for postage acceptable when i'm not in a hurry, but recently bought a small item in the UK and sent it to ReShip UK. Nearly fell over when I saw the money they wanted to send it on. It seems they don't use Royal Mail at all, just rapacious courier services. It was going to cost US$125 via their cheapest option carrier to send me a 1/2lb parcel as opposed to costing US$35 for the same parcel to be sent from the USA using USPS as the carrier.
What experiences do others have with forwarding from UK? Whose services do you use?

Not much help to you, but I joined YouShop - NZ Post's forwarding service from UK (& USA). If memory serves correct it's $22 NZD for the smallest parcel, a d the cost goes up by weight or volume (whichever is the greater).
The highest charge was an old cast iron 3 phase contactor sent over about a year ago - about $60 NZD.

You think it is bad now just wait to 29/3/19 aside from that I have always used Royal mail or TNT, the last package the company used Fedex as they said TNT have raised their prices

Curious to know if re-shipping fro the UK is actually worth it.

What happens with UK VAT when you use a reshipper?
Do you pay the 20% VAT twice -- once to the retailer and then again to the re-shipper as part of their domestic to UK activity?

My understanding is that if the retailer does the export no VAT is collected. From personal experience, I know that shipping directly from the retailer avoids VAT in Germany, Switzerland and Italy.

Not having kept abreast of the importation/GST changes, what is the implication of the 29/3/2019?
