Resin faced Ply - does glue stick?
I'm building a jig to glue up frames, very similar to picture frames. E.g http://lumberjocks.com/assets/pictur...62008-438x.jpg
I'm not wanting the joints to stick to the jig, so I normally use kitchen grease proof paper.
Since I'm making heaps of frames, this is laborious. I'm curious if I bought some film faced ply (the black hard slippery stuff like this: http://www.gunnersens.com.au/product...ilm-faced.html ) whether the titebond would stick to it....
Anybody know?

Not sure if that's the same stuff but i've used formply (used for concrete form work) before which has a similar black plastic face on it. It's designed to not bond to concrete. I haven't actually tried glueing anything to it but i can tell you that glue runoff on the black face can be pretty easily removed with a scrapper. Not sure if that is what you need though. If you can get a cutoff piece from the supplier you might be able to test it although i image that will be hard to do since they usually only sell sheets of the stuff.
Not sure if that helps. Good Luck and let us know if it works as intended.

Like lplates I have used bits of formply and pva glue is easy to scrape off. Even better if you wipe it with wax.

Not sure if this will help, Evanism, but I always use cling-wrap as a gluing anti-stick.

Glue won't stick. At least, not to the film-faced ply I picked up from Bunnies Fyshwick last weekend (@$10 for a 1200x600x17mm sheet). A few of them found their way into my car boot against future need.

packaging tape on regular ply may be a whole lot less expensive

I have a jig I made with melamine for gluing up triangular trivets. Titebond 111 doesn't stick.
