Tend to agree there, but it is horses for course and everyone is different
I would use a dark timber for legs to contrast it, cut off the edges and use both slabs for the top with some type of alloy inlayed between them for more contrast and a larger table - but that is just me so please ignore this post.
Incidently, i use to work at the Mt Lyell Mine in Queenstown and during the restart of the mine in the 1990's someone drove a truck onto site, craned about twenty tonnes of large old Huon and King Billy pine logs onto it and drove off, no-one saw a thing

with those edges it would make a hell of a bar. Imagine leaning against that with a coldie (on a coaster of course).
