revolving bookcase
I'm probably going to regret posting this as I have enormous trouble finding "threads" once they have started - but here goes.
I am seeking plans for a wooden revolving bookcase, about waist height, a sort of cube shape etc - there are a set of full size plans available on Amazon but the measurements are "imperial" as the plans come from the USA.
Does anyone know of plans that are set out in metric ? - the problem is not so much the measurements of the wood etc but one's tools are mostly metric !
Thanks

Marty, I would buy the plans from AMAZON, and spend 155mins converting the dimensions to metric.

Revolving bookcase
I am building one at the moment from plans I drew up myself and based on one I had in my office. The shelf size is modified to take A4 size magazines and books one each side. The older style are smaller width shelves.
PM me with your contact details and we can discuss design.

Converting imp to metric is a headache. Much easier to use the imperial...(e.g 3 7/8" = 98.425mm...messy)and one could just say near enough to 100mm as before long nought would probably fit where it should.
Afore long, good wood ruined!!Last edited by wun4us; 16th June 2012 at 07:54 PM. Reason: spell and punctuation

my email is [email protected] - I hasten to add that I am not going to make it (I'm hopeless on that score) but was to ask my partner's father to do so - if you have copies of plans, that would be nice or do you think I could get away with the 'imperial' plans?

If your plans are in imperial, use an imperial tape, If they're in metric, use a metric tape. Many tapes have both. No big deal!
