    HowdyLoooking at buying this rexon lathe can anyone give opinion??

    Rexon Wood Lathe, made in Australia. model WL-1440D 0.5 hp motor, capacity 1000mm, 240 volt, cycle 50htz, Sanding disc attached to one end. used $120-$150

    OK, I had a sneaking suspicion it would be one of them, there a number of these around with various brands on them, Dynalink is one, GMC is another.

    My local hardware store sells the GMC version fro $99, and I would consider that overpriced for what it is, sorry you did ask for an opinion!

    This a very poor excuse for a woodlathe, spend a bit more and you can pick up a used MC900 for around the $200-300 mark.

    The question should be how hard is it to get a chuck to run true on these lathes??? Any capable machinist can make you an adaptor from the spindle to a Nova or Vicmarc chuck.
