Rip Off or What?
My Trend Air Shield Pro head band broke.
I contacted Carbatec for a replacement and this was their reply.

then imagine what freight would be to Tennant Creek
Id take a look at cheapies brands, surely the headstraps cant be that different,I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds

can't glue (or rivet) something like and elastic band either side of it to hold it back together?
if its in the 12 month warranty period might be worth kicking up a bit more of a stink.

Try repairing it using the styrofoam and thin CA glue trick. First bring the 2 broken ends together and stick it on one side with masking tape or similar. Then cut thin strips of styrofoam and lay it on the opposite side to be joined. Next step is to coat it liberally with drops of thin CA glue. The CA glue will dissolve the styrofoam and then set hard joining the two ends. You may have to repeat with more layers of styrofoam and CA glue. When you're satisfied that side is strong enough, remove the masking tape from the other side and repeat the process. The plastic weld will be rough but you can sand it smooth. Do a search on YouTube if you don't understand my explanation of the process. If the styrofoam and CA glue doesn't work, try baking soda + CA glue or graphite powder + CA glue. You've got nothing to lose by giving it a go. Good luck.
