Rocker for my Grandson
I recently made this rocker for my grandson. It's black walnut and held together with 3500 PSI clear epoxy. Finished with two coats of brushed on clear semigloss water based poly, 220 grit sanding in between coats.
He seems satisfied

It looks almost child proof. He should get a lot of fun out of it. Very nice.

Hi Jeff, I am considering making a rocker in the near future and found the plans for the gloucester rocker in my wooden boat magazine. Thought it may interest you too.
Rockers / Rocker Plans-Woodenboat Publications
I'd be just buying the plans the finished product is a bit expensive for me Looks great though. I was interested in the plans as that will give me the right curve for the rocker without me needing to make a dozen different test pieces.
I like your chair too, it's a beaut.

Well I can tell you almost every cut is a angle and a radius for the feet where they attach to the rocker. I cheated on the radius, I got it close and folded a piece of 40 grit in half while holding the joint together with a thick rubber band, I pulled the folded in half sand paper through the joint several times. It worked like a champ but I had to tape the rocker so it would not get all scratched up by the 40 grit sandpaper.
